BEAUTIFUL! Sometimes I forget how lovely your home town is, too, and I live here!

You know, I looked at and loved the photos, but found myself pondering "Where is the Buddah's head?" At Wilkes U. somewhere? I know it wouldn't be at King's, do we have a Buddist center somewhere in town? Then, I was coming home from a show at the Arena and was driving down Washington St. to the Parkade and there he was! In front of Genetti's! Boy, am I non-observant or what?

Funny - I went through the same thing. I saw the Buddha head outside Genetti's when I was staying there the weekend of Uncle Chuck's funeral (R.I.P.) and thought "How many times have I walked down this street and never seen that? I have to get a picture of it!"

One of the pics of a Wilkes-Barre streen during a snowstorm is my desktop at work, and everyone who sees it tells me how pretty it is and asks me where it was taken.

It's driving that causes you to miss the beautiful. Wilkes-Barre is a beautiful city and you've seen it and photographed it because you've always walked it, John. When you drive, the run-down seems to stand out. When you walk (or bike-ride as my Dad loved to do) you get to see the beauty in the details. I always try to get out and walk when I'm home. It reminds me why I was so happy growing up there. And that snow storm, on that particular day, was one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen.
